Measuring Tips
The fabric you choose will affect the appearance of your finished garment. Most of the garments below are intended to be worn comfortably over a dress or skirt (or a dress or skirt over underwear and tights).
If you choose jersey, you may find you need to wash it. Avoid washing jersey in too hot or too cold a temperature. You can wash the fabric while it is still under some tension, which will enable the jersey to take on the shape of your body. It should then be hung to dry in the air. Do not tumble dry jersey. You can iron the jersey if you wish.
For all the garments below, please consider wearing underwear and tights that are appropriate for your comfort level. And you'll need some support undergarments. For example, if you have chosen a dress that will have a low back and you intend to wear a bra, you'll need a bra that can fit your chest and shoulder area. Otherwise you may find that your garment sits very uncomfortably on your body, which may affect the fit. You may find it comfortable to wear some underwear and tights that are of a very relaxed fit. But do not choose the lowest setting unless you're sure that this is appropriate for you.
Please be sure that the undergarments you choose are the correct size and will not restrict your movement.
The waist measurement shown is the average across the front. The length measurement is taken to the center back, over the broadest part of the back.
Sizes are determined by the manufacturers and may vary from those given. Sizing of garments may be impacted by the garment manufacturer's size range and may vary between different brands and retailers.
CARE
Your gowns, whether dry clean only or tumble dry, will need to be shaken out or brushed gently to release any creases or wrinkles. Hang it in a cool, quiet room where there is plenty of air flow.
When you get it home, store in a garment bag in the closet. Do not roll the gown in tissue paper, as this will restrict air flow and may lead to mildew.
Your gowns will be fine in the bag until you need them, but don't leave them in there longer than 3 months without washing them.
